I can’t tell you how many times old people ( I don’t consider myself old) have told me about the aches and pains that come with age.\u00a0 Those complaints and aches\u00a0were for others, not for me.\u00a0 In my mind I’m still an athlete and don’t get aches.\u00a0 So it was a\u00a0big “what the hell happened here?” moment when my right elbow started giving me big\u00a0trouble.\u00a0 I\u00a0couldn’t tell you any reason why\u00a0it hurt.\u00a0 This strange\u00a0discomfort came\u00a0from nowhere.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
Granted,\u00a0my elbow\u00a0was tender and sore and\u00a0might have healed if I left it alone, I didn’t leave it alone.\u00a0 My neighbor, who’s a really nice guy,\u00a0wanted to play tennis with me.\u00a0 I shouldn’t have played and I even thought it might not be good for me to play, but I played a vigorous 45 minutes\u00a0of tennis\u00a0on a nearby court.\u00a0 I\u00a0wasn’t going\u00a0to let some mystery ache boss me around, so I played like a pro.\u00a0 I stopped playing at the 43 minute mark\u00a0as my arm was swollen and my hand wasn’t working properly.\u00a0\u00a0When I came home, my\u00a0wife\u00a0congratulated\u00a0me\u00a0for\u00a0exploring the deepest reaches of idiocy.\u00a0\u00a0I still have to work and earn a living for\u00a0my family and I can’t do it\u00a0from the hospital.<\/p>\n
So with my arm on fire and my hand not responding to simple\u00a0brain\u00a0commands, I\u00a0may have entered a new phase of mid life.\u00a0 Good for me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
